Thematic Areas

The RRF Workplan for 2024–2025 focuses on three key areas, with all activities designed to support Member States in their return and reintegration efforts and the Common EU Return System.

Under the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, the RRF works with Member States, Frontex as well as national and local reintegration partners to implement return and reintegration provisions.

The chart below outlines the three areas and related activities:

Reaching Undocumented Migrants
Developing evidence-based tools and processes for the improvement of outreach practices directed at undocumented migrants
Networks of Frontline Workers
Engage existing networks of frontline workers to disseminate return counselling tools
Medical Reintegration Assistance (MeDRA+)
Offering Member States a solution to support returnees with medical needs through access to essential medical services
Cashless Transfer Project
Facilitating contract management for innovative, cashless payment solutions for returnees
Mapping, Service Catalogue and Referrals
Providing comprehensive mapping, including referral systems and pathways, to develop a service catalogue for effective reintegration assistance
Complementary Reintegration Services
Offering a range of complementary reintegration services to returnees from the EU
Capacity Building for Local Ownership
Supporting national coordination platforms and delivering capacity building and training sessions
Airport Facilities Assessment
Conducting research and comprehensive assessments of reception facilities for returnees in selected countries of origin
Technical Working Group
Fostering collaboration among migration experts, practitioners, and development actors to enhance cooperation for the benefit of returnees
